U-shaped hanging rings (often UL extended type) are one of the most basic connecting hardware in overhead power lines, and are widely used for connecting poles, insulator strings, and steel strands.The U-12 is a U-shaped ring series connecting fitting with a nominal breaking load of 120kN (12-ton class).

Core uses and application scenarios

The U-12, as a general-purpose connecting hardware for medium and high loads, is widely used in the following scenarios:

* **Insulator String Connection:** In 110kV/220kV suspension and tension strings, it connects insulators to crossarms/towers, transmitting mechanical tension.

* **Combined with right-angle hangers and cup-head hangers to form complete suspension/tension string assemblies.**

* **Guard Wire System Fixing:** Connects guard wire clamps, steel strands, and tower foundations, bearing guard wire tension; suitable for long-span, high-tension lines.

* **Substation Hardware Connection:** Used in outdoor power distribution equipment, connecting busbars, equipment clamps, and frames to transmit equipment loads.

* **String Extension Use:** Multiple U-12s can be connected in series, or combined with UL-12 extension hangers to adjust the insulator string length to adapt to different installation distances.
