About Glass Insulators

Glass insulators are commonly used accessories in high-voltage lines. They have different types and models, and are generally divided into: ordinary type (B) and anti-pollution type (BP). They are used on lines of different voltages as supports and fixers in high-voltage transmission lines. 

They are mainly used to fix the wires on poles and insulate the wires from poles. Insulators are one of the key components of high-voltage transmission lines, and their performance directly affects the operating safety of the entire transmission line. Glass insulators are widely used because of their zero-value self-breakage and easy maintenance.

Why is it becoming more and more popular? 

Because it can replace traditional porcelain insulators. Under the same line length, glass composite insulators require fewer supports, thereby reducing the volume of transmission lines and reducing costs. Secondly, it can also be used for the insulation of overhead lines. In high temperature, cold, high altitude and strong wind areas, glass composite insulators can effectively improve the reliability and safety of overhead lines.

As shown in the figure, glass insulators are used in a series of high-voltage lines, and other power hardware accessories are connected at both ends to make them more stable.
